Movie Day 2009

Click here to see the movies made by the boys on Movie Day.

Those boys in Year Eight who have completed their BCA course will be involved in Movie Day on 1 June 2009.

After registration, you should report to the ICT Lab which will be our base for the day.

The first part of the day involves a short briefing by an expert from the field of film-making.

There will also be a quick recap on the rules and guidelines for the day.  The most important of which are:

In order for a film to be judged "the best", it must have a U rating.  No blood, excessive violence, etc.  Failure to gain a U rating, means it cannot win, as the winners need to be shown in assembly.

The film are judged on a variety of attributes, but a great deal of weighting is given to films that have followed the instructions that have been given.

Whilst props and resources can be prepared at home, and planning can take place before Movie Day, no actual filming may take pace before the day.

There are a full set of guidelines, which are certainly worth reading.  Click here to see these guidelines.

GROUPS

Boys will be working in groups of three or four for the two major tasks of the day.  These groups have been chosen (on the whole) by the boys.

Click here to see the groups.  Click here to see the films they made.

TASKS

There are two tasks set.

The first task is a recreation of a "famous scene" from a famous film. Click here to view the details of the task.

The second task is to create a short commercial (advert) for a "miracle machine".  Click here to view the details of the task.
